Communicating procedures, instructions and information in a logical and accessible way is often central to the fulfillment of objectives. RhysJones Consultants has a wide range of experience of the drafting, editing and production of a wide range of guidance documents, manuals, reports and other publications where language and design are carefully combined to ensure clarity. Some examples are shown below.

RhysJones Consultants has produced the annual review for the Lift and Escalator Industry Association. Each year a fresh approach is found for our long-term clients. Articles, letters and features are contributed and a stylish modern appearance given to the literature.

Editor of the Consulting Engineer International, a magazine focusing on management and practice issues produced for the Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs-Conseils (FIDIC) based in Switzerland and distributed to 35,000 engineers, government agencies, funding institutions and international contractors world-wide.

Co-ordinating editor and designer for the Construction Management Forum: Report and Guidance produced by Reading University’s Centre for Strategic Studies in conjunction with Olympia & York and the British Property Federation. This major document, formulated by a large committee representing contractors, developers and construction professionals, required extensive input and consultation and included the development of legal documentation.

Editor and production co-ordinator of the Manual for the Design and Construction of Building for the British Property Federation, a substantial document produced in committee and requiring informed analysis and rationalisation. 

Economist Intelligence Unit 
As part of a major report for the technology transfer between universities and industry a questionnaire survey was carried out of all universities and polytechnics in the UK. In addition a questionnaire survey of industry was carried out to assess the attitudes towards the flow of technology from universities.

RhysJones has assisted in arranging for the publication of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Civil Engineering (The Red Book) in Russian through European Construction Ventures - a joint venture between the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) and Continental Construction Europe. European Construction Ventures has founded Construction Industry Centres in St Petersburg, Riga and Warsaw. The centres assist local construction industry and associated industries to adapt to and implement market economy conditions. In parallel it assists international construction companies to establish and work in the region and use local resources.
